Prerequisites:

You must be at least 18 years old.

You should have a minimum of 100 logged dives.

You must hold a PADI Assistant Instructor or PADI Dive Master certification or an equivalent leadership-level certification from another recognized diving organization.

You should have completed the Emergency First Response Primary and Secondary Care (CPR and First Aid) training within the last 24 months.

You should have completed Emergency First Response Instructor course.

Certified diver for at least six months

Course Structure:

The OWSI course includes knowledge development, confined water teaching presentations, and open water teaching presentations.

You'll learn about PADI's educational philosophy and how to use various teaching materials.

You'll develop your teaching skills and practice conducting classroom, confined water, and open water training sessions.

You'll also participate in the instructor examination (IE) to demonstrate your knowledge and skills.

Skills and Training:

During the course, you'll further refine your dive theory knowledge and become proficient in teaching PADI courses.

You'll develop your skills in evaluating and counseling students, both in confined water and open water settings.

You'll practice conducting rescue assessments and demonstrating rescue skills.

Certification:

Upon successful completion of the OWSI course and passing the Instructor Examination (IE), you'll earn the PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor certification.
